SALSAMBA announce the latin jazz group's second release
titled MAMBO DEL SOL. the album features music which blends
the traditions of American jazz with the infectious polyrhythms of Cuba,
Brazil and Africa Much of the album's music is original, including the blistering opening track Guataca ,(can be heard in MP3); an up-tempo afro-cuban 6/8 titled MEETING IN CONGO SQUARE; MANTRA a tune which features the exotic rhythms of the bata drums; NOVA AZUL , a bluesy bossa nova; a samba called THEME FOR JOBIM ; and the title track, the SALSAfied MAMBO DEL SOL, (can be heard with real audio).

standards arranged by the quintet round out the album including the evergreen
CUBAN FANTASY by Ray Bryant, a unique guaguanco treatment
of Dizzy Gillespie's BIRKS WORKS, a ballad by Brazilian
virtuoso Hermeto Pascoal called MONTREUX and a heart-felt
rendering of Herbie Hancock's gem I HAVE A DREAM.
