Clave Records and SALSAMBA announce the latin jazz group's second release titled MAMBO DEL SOL. the album features music which blends the traditions of American jazz with the infectious polyrhythms of Cuba, Brazil and Africa

Much of the album's music is original, including the blistering opening track
Guataca
,(can be heard in MP3); an up-tempo afro-cuban 6/8 titled MEETING IN CONGO SQUARE; MANTRA a tune which features the exotic rhythms of the bata drums;

NOVA AZUL , a bluesy bossa nova; a samba called THEME FOR JOBIM ; and the title track, the SALSAfied MAMBO DEL SOL, (can be heard with real audio).

A mixture of favorite and unusual latin jazz standards arranged by the quintet round out the album including the evergreen CUBAN FANTASY by Ray Bryant, a unique guaguanco treatment of Dizzy Gillespie's BIRKS WORKS, a ballad by Brazilian virtuoso Hermeto Pascoal called MONTREUX and a heart-felt rendering of Herbie Hancock's gem I HAVE A DREAM.

Performing on MAMBO DEL SOL is Eric Susoeff guitar, Lou Stellute saxophone and flute, George Jones congas, Rich Loose bass, Dan Muchoney timbales and Ricardo Monzon bongos.
