Recorded at the famed Van
Gelder Studios,
Mambo in Blue features all original music composed by guitarist/leader Eric Susoeff. Mambo in Blue is available on high fidelity BASF Chrome Dolby Stereo cassette (sorry CDs not available at this time). The introduction to the title track finds Rolando Morales, George Jones and special guest Dimas Sanchez performing a compelling rhythm on conga and bata drums. As for the tune, the name says it all: a bluesy gritty mambo that combines the best of both worlds. Other tracks on side one are "Green Card" a groove filled cha-cha with an angular melody and the popular "Bossa For Joanne."

Side two opens with "Nanigo," a composition based on the exotic Afro Cuban rhythm. The introduction is an arrangement for conga drums played by the three percussionists. The body of the tune features a spirited sax solo by Lou Stellute. "Chalero" combines a cha-cha a bolero , and "Here to There", a high enegy mambo, ends the side. Mambo In Blue is available on cassette only from Clave Records or can be ordered direct through the internet with our link to Consolidated Artists Productions |
